Medicine walk

Very good condition, soft cover.

• Setting: The dramatic backcountry of the British Columbia Interior.

• Plot: Sixteen-year-old Franklin Starlight is summoned by his estranged, chronically ill, and alcoholic biological father, Eldon. Having been raised mostly by a white guardian named Bunky ("the old man"), Frank answers the call of duty to find Eldon dying of liver failure. Eldon asks his son to take him deep into the mountains so he can have a traditional Ojibwe warrior burial.

• Themes: The journey serves as both a physical trek through the wilderness and an emotional reckoning as Eldon shares his painful past—including his time in the Korean War and personal grief—allowing father and son to find reconciliation and healing.
